Self Help-Breath Work

Believe it or not, most of us are not breathing properly as we go about our day. Not only are we breathing too shallowly, but we breathe from the chest instead of the abdomen. This especially occurs when we are stressed, making it even more difficult to cope with the situation due to less oxygenation. 

Stop occasionally and pay attention to your breath. Take some slow, deep breaths, and see if your mood or energy improves.

This is also helpful at night if you have difficulty falling asleep. Focus on the inhalations and exhalations, trying to make them at least 4 seconds or longer.
