Is What We’re Eating Food?

What is food? Sounds like a no brainer, right? But, can you really answer the question? The dictionary defines food as any nourishing substance that is eaten, drunk, or otherwise taken into the body to sustain life, provide energy, and promote growth. The other definitions all contain the word nourishment in them.

Now that you’ve been reminded of the true meaning, let’s examine what we regularly and eagerly devour as so-called “food.”

Siclovia, San Antonio

September 29th, was not another ordinary Sunday for the Grounded Monkey family. We had been hearing about a SanGrounded Monkey at Siclovia Antonio event called Siclovia for about a month. Downtown streets were going to be shut down so families could ride their bicycles and enjoy some exercise and free activities together. It sounded fantastic.

The Fluidity of Balance

After 14 years of ballet training while growing up, you would think my pirouettes would be on point. Balancing on my toes should be simple and automatic, right? Yet, not one of my dance teachers ever broke down balance or gave me strategies to improve mine. (Hang with me if you can’t stand performing arts; I do have a point relevant for everyone.)

It wasn’t until I had several years of yoga classes in my thirties that I started to make some discoveries I think connect to our everyday life.

Divine Intervention

There are times when an incident affects you so profoundly that it could only mean one thing—this moment in time in our lives has been painted by divine intervention. As I am becoming more aware and awake, I realize these significant brushstrokes must occur on a regular basis.

Finding the Emotional Cause of your Physical Pain

Back in November of 2012, I took a class titled Self Created Health, offered by Quantum-Touch. Richard Gordon, the founder, has discovered, I’m sure along with others, that our physical ailments can almost always be traced back to an emotion. This was a huge Aha! moment for me. I had never heard of this concept before-physical pain from emotions; yet, it totally made sense.

Residing in parts of all of our bodies are memories, and with these memories, feelings, many times negative, are associated with them. What do you think happens to this negative energy?
